A lot of users possess all types of different controllers from all of the consoles they used over the years and they felt like it would be great to be able to use them on their computers. A lot of new adapters have been invented to enable this but a lot of modern consoles already use USB ports to connect their controllers. Getting your PlayStation 3 controller to work on your computer is mostly done with the program called Motioninjoy but some users claim that the program is simply not working for them.
The Issue
When people installed Motioninjoy properly, all that opens is a blank white page, similar to the one you get when you open a website with a poor connection and only the HTML code loads properly. This issue can be caused by a variety of different issues but you should first try simply to install and uninstall the program without doing anything else.
There are basically two different things you can do. If the program is simply not working for you, you can look up the installation online and try to find a portable version of the Program Files/Motioninjoy/ds3 folder and simply paste the files in this folder in particular. Finding this can be difficult but you can also find someone who uses the same program or even use a different computer to install the files.
The second thing you can do is switch to a new application to enable the use of a PlayStation controller. Almost everyone who used Motioninjoy switched to a new program called SCP Driver which offers the same functionality but it’s much difficult to use and it’s easy to remove, unlike Motioninjoy. Motioninjoy also creates a mess with your other Bluetooth and USB devices and overrides their settings, causing them to malfunction.
Additionally, there has been information that Motioninjoy contains malware which sends encrypted messages to China and no one really knows what is in these messages so it’s probably the best if you found a new program.
