Users of the latest iOS 11 may be wondering what happened to the HDR mode on the camera app, as Apple decided to ‘disable’ it out of the box. This is because the camera will automatically choose whether it will shoot in normal or HDR mode.
However, there is a way to bring back manual HDR mode. It’s actually found within the Settings app.
- All you need to do is go into Settings > Camera > disable ‘Auto HDR Mode’.
- When you go back to the camera app, you’ll now see a button for toggling HDR mode.
- There’s also an option to “Keep Normal Photo” under the camera settings – this is useful for if you don’t like the way your HDR photo turns out, you still have the normal photo to use.
