How to Upload to Instagram from a Computer

Instagram is a very popular social media network that mainly focuses on images and videos in contrast to other social media platforms that are generic. Instagram is actually developed for handheld devices. That’s the reason; people find it pretty annoying while using their website on a computer as they cannot upload their photos directly. It is pretty obvious that sometimes, you have photos on your computer but you want to avoid the hassle of transferring those photos to your smartphone just for uploading purpose.

Keeping your problem in view, we have found a smart solution to let you upload your photos/ videos to instagram using a computer.

Method 1: Using Google Chrome Web Browser

If you have Google Chrome installed on your PC, then it’s actually pretty easy to upload your stuff on instagram while using your computer. Just follow these steps.

Open Google Chrome and login to your instagram account using their website.
After you are logged-in, press Ctrl + Shift + I keys on your keyboard if you are using Windows or Cmd + Opt + I if you are surfing on Mac OS in order to launch Google chrome inspector window. Alternatively, you can also right click on the empty area and select Inspect option from the list.
Inside the chrome’s inspector window, navigate to the top left and click on tablet/ phone icon as displayed in the below image. It would load your website in responsive mode as it is displayed on a smartphone/ tablet.
On the left side of your browser, select the type of smartphone/ tablet you want your instagram website to be displayed on. Afterwards, refresh the page by pressing “F5” key on your keyboard.
After refreshing your page, you would come up with smartphone/ tablet simulated version of your instagram account. At the bottom, you would see an icon to upload your photos/ videos to your instagram account. Click on that icon and select your desired media to be posted on your account.

Method 2: Using Mozilla Firefox Web Browser

If you tend to use Firefox as your regular browser, you can also upload your photos/ videos using your computer. Follow these steps.
1. Login to your instagram account and right click on the empty area. Select “Inspect Element” option to launch Firefox Inspector tool. Navigate to the top right of Firefox inspector and click on mobile like icon to launch Responsive Design Mode.
2. Inside Responsive mode, select the type of device from the dropdown list. It would automatically refresh the page according to your selection.
3. At the top left corner of your instagram account, you would see a Camera icon that was not visible before. Click this icon and choose the image file you want to upload to your instagram account.
