SOLVED: Invalid IMEI

Sometimes when you factory reset your android phone you will not get signal of your SIM card or else it will show as only emergency calls. It may occur due to invalid IMEI problem in your phone. To check if you have invalid IMEI problem in your phone you may dial *#06#. A Popup Box Will Be Shown in Which if your IMEI will be present the number will be shown and if not present it will show as Invalid IMEI. Invalid IMEI problem may also be faced after installing a new rom or after upgrading your system. In this article I will teach you how to fix invalid IMEI problem on custom ROM rooted android phones.

There are few things required to fix this issues

  • MTK based phone (Must have MTK Engineer Mode)
  • Root Access (Must be a rooted phone)
  • IMEI number (The IMEI number can be found on the back of your phone. Remove the battery and look for IMEI 1 for SIM 1 and IMEI 2 for SIM 2. It can also be found on the packaging box of your mobile. )

Download MobileUncle Tools from Google Play Store .

After installing the app and open Engineer Mode.

Select Engineer Mode (MTK).

Select CDS Information.

Select Radio Information.

Select SIM which you want to Configure for IMEI

Click After AT+ and Enter E from Keyboard Select EGMR=1,7,”” for SIM 1. Type IMEI in Commas (Example AT+EMGR=1,7,”234 23 42 432 843 4″) and Press SEND AT COMMAND. That’s It. For SIM 2 After AT+ Enter E from Keyboard and Select EGMR=1,10,”” and type IMEI in Commas. Then Press Button “SEND AT COMMAND”
