The application preferences file is damaged. Please remove it and re-launch QuarkXpress. [followed by a number]
The reason why these errors come up is down to the design of QuarkXPress. However, this isn’t a serious issue and can be easily resolved provided that you take the right approach. Hold the Windows Key and Press R and type taskmgr in the run dialog. Click OK. This should open the Task Manager window, click the Processes tab, (the 2nd one) and locate QuarkXPress.exe process if it is running, right click it and end the process. If you do not see it, then move to the next step.
Hold the Windows Key and Press R. Type %appdata% and Click OK. Browse to Appdata -> Local -> Quark and rename the QuarkXPress folder to QuarkXPress old.
Once done, relaunch QuarkXPress and it should load up fine.
